    Generation of High-Energy Ultrashort Laser Pulses via Post-Compression

    • Contemporary ultrafast science and applications require reliable sources of high-energy, ultrashort laser pulses. This paper reviews post-compression techniques based on the optical Kerr effect or ionization effects. We introduce and compare various post-compression methods for high-energy laser pulses, including those employing hollow-core fibers, optical filamentation, solid media, and multi-pass cells. A brief analysis and summary of the latest post-compression techniques is presented, aiming to serve as a reference for the future generation and application of high-energy ultrashort laser pulses.
